Jess Gruber

Midwife, Mom of 3 Boys, Yoga Therapist

Hi! I’m Jess

I care about your pelvic & reproductive wellbeing

But really. I do. Your pelvic & reproductive health is more than “not having any problems’. It’s vibrant cycling, embodied pregnancy and birth, it’s motherhood from a place of sacred righteousness, it’s understanding how to be slow and mindful, but perhaps most importantly, it’s understanding how and why this depth and connection is so vital to not only your wellbeing, but your children’s.

Something was systematically stolen from us. Our connection to ourselves and our maternal lineage was severed. Knowledge, no, WISDOM was lost. But the whispers of it continued; wise women continued to pass down stories of powerful women, living as legends, almost out of reach, in our psyches, in our stories, in our cultural mythology.

I’m here as a part of a wave of women and womb-bearers who are ready to move forward with greater connection to our unique cyclical nature, our reproductive cycles, our natural ability to give birth, and our ability to connect deeply to ourselves and nature. To bring to light these living legends of powerful women and remind you that you are her and she is you.

Jess is a midwife (licensure is currently underway) and yoga therapist specializing in pelvic biomechanics and reproductive well-being as rites of passage. She works with clients to prepare for the physical and spiritual journey of birth and parenthood as well as supports postpartum parents in healing from birth, such as rehabilitating diastasis recti and pelvic floor dysfunctions. She has been working with pregnant and postpartum people since 2012.

My Education

I recently completed a direct-entry midwifery program and am currently awaiting approval of licensure (likely, early 2025). I also have my Master of Science in Clinical Yoga Therapy from Maryland University of Integrative Health.

I have learned from some incredible women and people including, Kimberly Ann Johnson, Marlysa Sullivan, Vanessa Caldari, Leslie Howard, Sabia Wade, and Brittany Sharpe McCollum.

If I’m being honest, while my schooling and my teachers listed above have taught me so much, what has taught me the most is observing and listening to women as well as my voracious appetite for reading.
